How the Registry Score works.
Every listing is scored 0–100 from signals a homeowner could check themselves. Nobody can pay for a higher score, and confirming a listing doesn't change it — it changes what we know.

| Component | Points | Signal |
|---|---|---|
| Reputation | 34 | Blended star rating across Google, Yelp and Facebook, shrunk toward the national average (4.1★, 12-review prior) so thin review counts can't dominate. Scaled from 3.0★ (0 pts) to 5.0★ (34 pts). |

Bands
- 85–100 · Exceptional — top-tier reputation at volume, with a complete digital footprint.
- 70–84 · Strong — well reviewed and easy to find.
- 50–69 · Established — a solid record with gaps in reviews or presence.
- Under 50 · Developing — limited public signals so far.
- Not yet rated — we found no reviews, website or social presence to score. This says nothing about the quality of the work.
Where the data comes from
Records are compiled from public business listings, review platforms and each business's own website, then normalised: phone numbers, addresses and trade categories are cleaned and duplicates merged. Owners can confirm or correct their record at any time through the claim process.
What verification means
An owner-verified badge means someone with access to the business's own contact details confirmed the record. Verified records sort first within their city. Verification doesn't alter the score, and the Registry has no paid placement.
How companies are featured
For the 2026 edition we select a small number of HVAC and plumbing companies to feature in each city. Selection is editorial and uses the same public signals as the score — review ratings and volume, years in business, and how complete the public record is. The one-line reason shown on a featured listing is built only from facts on file. Featured companies appear first on their city page and carry a Featured · City 2026 badge.
Listings and rankings are never influenced by whether a business buys anything from Genovation AI.
